PRISON INDUSTRY

At ICPALA we are committed to decisively promoting employment among persons deprived of liberty, as we understand it as the trigger that, together with education and training, achieves the social vindication of the individual. Our commitment is to bring employment options to persons deprived of liberty with a final judgment, from socially responsible companies and under the commitment that the job position that the employer creates within the prison walls, will be maintained as a mirror job position in the open employment market. In this sense, we seek options that are endorsed by the federal and state government agencies responsible for accompanying the reintegration process, so that the solutions in this area are not only left to the discretion of the prison administrators, but are a deliberate public policy of multiple action: companies, government, prison system, foundations, NGOs, various chambers and society. Otherwise, social reintegration will not cease to be a good constitutional statement and will be the immediate option for criminal recidivism.
